Our Company:

MOST Engineering is a privately owned structural and bridge engineering consulting firm based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. MOST was started by Walter Polanica, P.Eng. in 1997. Atif Shaker, P.Eng. joined Walter in 2000 and the company was restructred in 2001. In order to better serve our clients in Northern Alberta, we established an office in Grimshaw, Alberta in 2008, managed by Randy Morden, P.L.(Eng.).

Our primary focus is bridge and culvert Engineering, covering all aspects from preliminary engineering, to tender package preparation to contract administration and construction supervision. Other services include bridge inspection, condition assessment, and load rating.

Our project list includes new bridges and bridge rehabilitation of short and medium span grade separations, river crossings, pedestrian bridges and culverts. MOST also specializes in bridge damage repair resulting from fire, vehicular collision, oversize loads, element deterioration, excessive settlement, etc.

MOST was the Prime Consultant for bridge rehabilitation projects on some of the highest traffic volume highways in Alberta, including; Deerfoot Trail in Calgary, QE2, Trans-Canada Highway through the National Parks, and Yellowhead Highway.

Our project experience covers a wide range of bridge projects throughout Western Canada with the majority of our projects in the Province of Alberta where we are pre-qualified with Alberta Transportation as Prime Consultant in the "Major Bridges" category.

MOST is a member of the Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA) and a member of APEGA in good standing under Permit to Practice No. 8859. We are enrolled in the Certificate Of Recognition (COR) program with the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) under COR No. 5674 and have maintained a perfect WCB safety record.
